be right back.
i'm boring myself with this stuff...
............................................................................
EDIT:
i've been keeping various blogs for a long time, though never really telling people about them until this one.
when i started missjes.com i wanted to make something i could show everyone, but i was really afraid to put myself out there in any meaningful way. thus, i've stuck to what i thought would be the more interesting and upbeat parts of my life.
lately, it just hasn't been feeling right. i'm boring myself. and really, when i think about the things i like best about other people they usually are the things that they are most afraid to show others. so why should i be the same?
i intend to keep using this space as soon as i decide how.
i'll let whoever may be reading this know when i do.

this must be the place
sooo..
daft punk was so amazing that it took me pretty much until now to regain enough energy to talk about it.
wow. wow. wow.
i've never seen such an amazing production.
daft punk, the rapture, sebastian, and kavinsky were all incredible!
i pretty much owe mattie part of my first born or something for hooking me up so much for that.
highlights (i'm not even going to talk about the performance becase words don't do it justice at all):
- the most hooked up backstage area i've ever seen.
- hanging with mattie and james
- being able to watch from the sound booth
- afterparty shenanigans
beyond that, i've kind of been laying low and giving myself a mini at home vacation. the next couple of months are about to get C-R-A-Z-Y so i'm enjoying the down time when i can get it. cooking big dinners, drinking lots of wine, and catching up with a few of my more laid back friends has been just what the doc ordered.
i'll be back in effect this week, though. :)
and of course, here's your pictures! (because what blog is complete without those?)

and here's a few teaser shots from my secret project... curious?

tell me more! tell me more!
time for another update...
it's been hard to write lately because i've been spending most of my time working on a new secret project that i still can't really talk about.
though hint: have you noticed that video camera i've been carrying?
so for now, we'll just have to stick with the things that i am allowed to talk about....
- klaxons show was rad. simon is a sweetie.
- good magazine party at 111 minna rocked. met wes, kid sister, and a-trak... they're all super sweethearts. ran into a zillion people. saw drew b. looking pretty.

- had nasty flu :( spent lots of time eating soup and watching movies.
- went to the lovemakers' listening party.

- frisco disco sillyness as usual...

- chromeo and flosstradamus were AMAZING. i heart curtis - michigan love.
- spent a lot of time wandering around with gabe.

- went with silke to meet up with blake for the smashing pumpkins/ moving units show. pumpkins tore it up! blake hurt his elbow :(
there's been so much more keeping me busy... the rest is just still under wraps for now. i'll announce as soon as i can.
this weekend it's going to be all about this:

and this:

xoxo

we'll make them turn their heads every place we go
greetings, various anonymous readers!
i've been lending my blogging skills to starting up friscodiscofever.blogspot.com which has been awesome, but a bit of a tax on getting my own entry up... my apologies!
it's been another great few weeks, though!
looooots of time spent working at the prince house.
i'll stick to the highlights:
-frisco disco has been GOING OFF. every saturday i heart the transfer more and more.

jason's birthday especially rocked it.
represent.

-the secret black rebel motorcycle club show at mezz was amazing.
pre-show coffee/ dinner nonsense:

- surprise visit from mr. aoki on thursday. spent the day the the movies watching the transformers and ratatouille. steve needs to surprise visit me more often.
- dolores park picnics - lots of them.
- 4th of july bbq at brandon's house in bernal. way too much good food. fireworks everywhere. dan the automator's cute little kid.
- SECRET PROJECT... can't talk about it yet, but get ready for greatness.
and now, a few photos from my last random shoot with silke:

in my world of fantasy
well, it's been another crazy week.
last wednesday silke and i hit up the independent for the datarock show. i didn't get to stay long the last time they were in town, so it was nice to be able to hang out and chat. topics of conversation included crazy interviews, unwashed track suits, and gay bombs. those boys are my new favorite norwegians. hopefully, they'll be back soon.
me hogging the weird snick couch backstage.

thursday night i nerded out and went to dolores park for movie in the park. dial m for murder in 3d + picnic = yet another reason why i live in sf.
friday's blow up was bertie's going away party. so sad. san francisco is going to miss him. andrew is going to be a worthy successor, though. who doesn't love jelly donut? well, besides you know who.
some blow up photos for you:

tuesday night was the shutter anniversary party with the horrors. i managed to drag scott out with me for the event and ran into a lot of other good people who i don't see nearly often enough. and all i have to say about my feelings on that performance is IT'S ABOUT TIME. there are so few rock and rollers who really rock anymore. it's so good to see there are still bands who will climb out and smash disco balls - and who have the music to back it up. 330 ritch was thoroughly rocked. thank goodness.
and because my inner 13 year old is totally crushing on them now, i'm going to go ahead and throw this video in:
edit:
i switched the video out because someone actually posted one of the disco ball being ripped down at popscene - enjoy!

do the d-a-n-c-e
this weekend kicked my ass.
friday night was the bfd pre-party with lcd soundsystem and the lovemakers at mezzanine. i was a bit disappointed with lcd for not changing their set up from the last time but it was still a great show, and the lovemakers played a lot of their new stuff so i was stoked. plus any chance to hang out with those kids is always a plus (the lovemakers, that is...)
saturday i skipped bfd because i hate shoreline amphitheatre. sue me.
saturday night was the bfd afterparty with css and dj sets by the faint. css played an amazing set and gave me a new found appreciation for sequined jumpsuits. various bfd band members came to hang out, which is always nice. and then some guy in the smoking room won the award for worst pickup line i have ever heard... guys: if you are trying to impress a girl, please do not ever think it's a good idea to walk up and tell her how much you want to bite her.
(a note on mezzanine:
thank goodness for crystal, richard's drink making skills, and the upstairs - without which, i might go insane.)
sunday jeff called me up and we headed over to slim's for the ima robot show. "peter brady" and i compared scars. jeff and the rest nerded out over music. then it was off to laszlo to wind down the night with champagne and good conversation. good times.
on another note entirely:
i was just featured on the style blog cuteness burger in my outfit by dema at the vivienne westwood party. muzzy, ashley, and kaila are in there too. check it out.
and finally, for your amusement (and because i have yet to track down any pics of the last weekend) a random frisco disco moment. (thanks peter and marin.)

rock it on over
it's been far too long since i've updated! so much has happened!
thursday the 25th...
my friend stuart from back home and his little brother came to spend a week with me. i took them with me to catch my roommate alex's band, death of a party for their record release show at bottom of the hill. the guys rocked out, and scott even made a special appearance singing suffragette city.
the next night was party with viv! at the de young museum. muzzy, michaela, and i modeled for dema. check out her store in the mission next to ritual and lost weekend. her clothes are beautiful!
i was a bit too tan for the wigs we had to wear, but i loved my outfit!
here's a few shots from backstage:

after the show muzzy and i got ethiopian food and then met up with zach and andrew/jelly donut for drinks and the invention of "sink the twink." i'll leave you to guess or ask what that was...
saturday (the 26th) i hit up frisco disco to catch gemini disco's guest set... rad disco tracks as usual.
sunday and monday were lazy dolores park days. opera in the park was sunday and the stripper bake sale was monday. this contrast basically shows why dolores is my favorite park ever. well, that and its proximity to bi-rite salted caramel ice cream.
tuesday was a much needed club eb. champagne, heated pool, sunshine, and my favorite people... yes!
thursday i hit the sf moma. sadly, i had just missed the picasso exhibit and was too early for the matisse one, but i did get to check out the muncaski photos. do yourself a favor and go see those if you can - incredible. i really need to just break down and become a member of the moma.
friday was the loaded 3 year anniversary at rickshaw. toph and elise rocked out the gold chains set, rini and company did an excellent job of making the rickshaw extra festive, and my favorite prouty was in town - quite the excellent night.

saturday's installment of frisco disco was frisco disco vs wall street. i never actually bothered to go to wall street, but they played a good set. the transfer was extra packed, so i kept having to escape into the smoking room with gabe to keep from melting.
and that brings us to last night....
michaela and i hit cafe du nord to hang out with the colour on their last sf show. lots of nice kids, a great set, and "speedracer beer" made for one sleepy jes at the end of the night.
phew...
also!
my friends the lovemakers just released their new single, whine and dine! buy it on their page at thelovemakers.fuzz.com and catch the interview on the new album and video on shots ring out
(this video will pretty much explain to you why scott is my friend.)
